I suppose I should have checked the weather forecast before I went to the state park to run at 1:30 this afternoon. After 1 mile on the trails, I started hearing thunder. That continued until I turned around at the 2-mile mark and started heading back. Then it hit. Heavy lightning and rain. The lightning seemed to be striking all around me and the trail was deep with water. like over my socks. I even had to climb over a tree that had fallen on the trail during the storm. Thank God I made it back to my truck in one piece; 4 miles done.
