5K distance

 I met up with the group at the park this evening and ran 3.1 (5K) on the park roads.

Park again

 After not running at the park for a few days, I made it there late this morning and ran 3 miles on the trails.

Texas 10 Series Conroe 5-Miler

I ran the Texas 10 Series Conroe 5-Miler this morning.  I finished in 1:17:12, about 1 minute slower than my normal slow.  I was 3rd of 3 in the 70 and over age group.  I ran the entire race with Michael Murphy of Honor Flag Runner, who carried an American flag and wore a special bib with my photo on it.  He honors runners who are veterans.  I really appreciate the honor and he presented me with the flag after the race..

Leftover Turkey 5K

 I ran our club's Leftover Turkey 5K here in Huntsville this morning.  Luckily, the forecasted rain held off.  I finished in 48:58.

Friends of the Running Community 5K

 I went back to The Woodlands this morning and ran the Friends of the Running Community 5K.  This is a special race held most years to round out the Montgomery County Triple, a 3-race series around Thanksgiving time.  I finished in 46:55.

Run Thru the Woods 5-Miler

 For the 20th consecutive year, I ran the Run Thru the Woods 5-Miler in The Woodlands this Thanksgiving Day morning.  There were just over 4,000 registered runners.  The heavy rain started in mile two and eventually turned into light rain.  I finished in 1:16:15 and was third of three in the 75 and over age group.

Early morning run

 I was suppose to run a 5K in Bellville this morning.  However, I have a very ill family member in Tyler.  I ran 3.2 miles on the track very early this morning and then drove to Tyler for a visit.  Got back to Huntsville this evening and am ready to race tomorrow in The Woodlands.

Park getting crowded for Thanksgiving

 I went to the park early this afternoon and had to wait in a long line to get in.  I ran 3 miles on the park roads, which included the road through a crowded camping area.

Same 4

 I had my annual physical today and did not get out to the park until late this afternoon.  I ran the same 4-mile course on the trails that I ran yesterday.

Sunday afternoon at the park

 After church and lunch, I went out to the state park and ran 4 miles on the trails.

Conroe Turkey Trot 5K

 I drove down to Conroe this morning and ran the Turkey Trot 5K.  I like the 9 a.m. start.  I finished in 45:18.  Good weather and I got to visit with some good friends.

3-Mile loop

 I ran a 3-mile loop on the park trails early this afternoon.

Two days

 Must be my age, but I forgot to blog last night.  In any case, I ran 3 miles on the trails at the park and 3.1 today on the roads.

Split run

 I had a busy day, but ran 1.5 miles at the track this morning and 1.5 on the roads at the park this evening.  Total 3 miles.

3.5 on the trails

 Early this afternoon, I ran 3.5 miles on the trails.

Trails at the park

Late this morning, I ran 4.2 miles on the trails at  the park.  Being a nice Sunday, there were a lot of people at the park.  Even saw a couple other runners on the trails.

CPT Inman Memorial 5K

 I forgot to post yesterday.  I was busy all day and did not have time to drive to the park.  I did make it to the track for 12 laps (3 miles).  This morning, I ran the CPT Inman Memorial 5K on the SHSU campus, put on my ROTC.  It was non-competitive, but I finished in 43:38, just over a minute slower than last year.  Given the very hilly course, I'll take it.

Back to the trails

 Since I had my stitches removed yesterday, I got back on the trails at Huntsville State Park this evening.  Did 3.1 miles.

6 Months

 I had an appointment in Conroe this afternoon to get the stitches removed from my neck.  While down there, I went over to Barton Park and ran 3.8 miles on the concrete trails.  Today's run marks 6 months on my new running streak.

Group Tuesday

  I met up with the group at the park this Tuesday evening and ran 3.5 miles on the roads.

Tempted to get back on the trails

 I was tempted to get back on the trails at the state park this morning.  However, I still have stitches in my neck from the surgery last Wednesday.  So, I ran 3 miles on the park roads.

Texas 10 Series Katy 5-Miler

 I ran the Texas 10 Series Katy 5-Miler in Katy this morning.  Nice cool weather.  I finished in 1:16:10 and was 4th of 4 in the 70 and over age group.

Back Pew 5K

 I drove an hour down to Porter this morning to run the Back Pew 5K Beer Run.  I finished in 47:28 (about 1 minute slower than last year) and was third of three in the 70 and over age group.  Had a beer after the race and got to visit with John Slate and other good friends.  This was my 60th race in 2021.

 With races this weekend, I went to the park early this afternoon and ran 3 miles on the roads.

5K distance

 I could not make the group run at the park this evening, but I did go out late this morning and run 3.1 miles (5K) on the park roads.

Surgery this morning

 I went to Conroe early this morning for surgery.  Had a spot removed from my neck (3-inch incision).  The doc told me to take it easy for the rest of the day.  So, I stayed off the trails and ran 3 miles on the park roads, virtually all of it in a heavy rain.

 As usual for Thursday, I met up with the group at the park this evening and ran 3 miles on the roads.

 After 7 miles yesterday, I ran 3 on the park roads this afternoon.
