I drove about 75 miles east this morning to Diboll, Texas to run the Running Jacks 5K. Diboll is just south of Lufkin and I am a member of the Lufkin Area Pacesetters (LAPS). The photo here is of me and my LAPS friends. Nice course, starting and finishing at the high school track. I finished in 36:30 and was first in my 70 & over age group (yep, I was the only one in the age group). I was relieved that I did not have sharp pains in my calf. With that, I will sign up for the Race for the Pennant 10K (Astros Run) next Saturday.
Retired from the Army in 1984 and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 2005. Began running in 1961 and racing in 1983. Completed over 1,000 races, to include 101 marathons or ultra-marathons. I am a STREAKER, meaning that I run every day. Member of the U.S. Running Streak Association, Seven Hills Running Club in Huntsville, Texas, Lufkin Area Pace Setters (LAPS) and Team RWB. Author of the book, How to Put on a Road Race.
