Outer Perimeter Trail

A bunch of us met at the park to run trails this afternoon. I ended up running a little different route than the others. I ran the outer perimeter trail, which circles the park. It turned out to be 8.8 miles. With no rain in Huntsville for weeks, the trails are very dry and it is starting to get sandy in places. Even Amy's crossing is dried up.

Phillip's friend Stacy (from the front gate office) says they have lowered the lake a lot to get rid of some of the foreign plants. That has caused the swampy areas, such as Amy's Crossing, to dry up. Don't worry, when they let the lake resume to normal levels it'll be back to it's swampy self again.
