I forgot to blog last night, but late yesterday I ran 2.1 miles on the concrete trails at a city park in Huntsville. I got up early this morning and drove an hour over to Hempstead to run the Watermelon Run for the Fallen. It is an annual non-competitive 5K to honor fallen service members. Every one walks two laps around the track at the football stadium. Then, if you want to run, its 2.8 miles to downtown Hempstead, watermelon and ceremonies to honor the fallen. I finished the 2.8 segment in 45:10, just over a minute slower that the last race two years ago.
