I know that I need to be running longer distances, but it is so hot. I did my 3-mile loop around town at 6 this evening. The temperature was in the high 90's and I suppose the heat index was well over 100. I hope for cooler weather soon.
Same here Ken. I don't have a marathon to do but don't feel the mileage is enough even for the half. Motivation is hard to come by for the longer runs in this heat. 8 miles is my longest so far and that really took it out of me to the extent it dampened the training for a day or so....yeah, cooler weather...longer miles.
I worry more about hydration since I had to get an IV after the Tulsa Marathon last fall. I don't keep a running log (except what I blog), but I think my total milage this summer is greater. Maybe it will help me ramp up faster for the marathon on 10/10. When is your next race?
