2 Falls

I ran 3 miles on the trails at the park this evening and fell twice.  The first time I hit my left knee and opened up the scabs from the cut from my fall last Thursday.  Now, back to the healing process.  Then, I fell a second time and landed hard on my left hip.  I have had ice on it tonight, but it is really sore.  I may have a painful run tomorrow.

Sorry about all the falls, Ken. I hope that hip gets better. At any age, trails are easy enough to fall on. I run on trails here mostly ... It is just me, but I cannot imagine why anyone would choose to run trails when they can run on pavement. Seriously, I have never liked trail running. For one, is the falls and two is that you have to look down a lot for trip hazards and snakes and such.

With so many distracted drivers on the road, I tend to feel more comfortable on the trails. Tripping and falling seems to go in spurts. I always run trails alone and am able to concentrate on my footing. I can go for a long time without falling and then, like last Thursday, I fell twice. Usually, the worst thing is a skinned up knee. I wish we had a nice asphalt paved running trail in Huntsville. So many other cities do. We have the concrete sidewalk along Veterans Memorial Parkway, but concrete is the worst. I read once that it is 10 times harder than asphalt. Marvin, thanks for your comment and for reading my blog. Hope your training is going well.
