The day started off with a call from my cardiologist's office. My follow-up appointment has been moved from July 21 to July 24. That's another 3 days with the bandages and clearance to run again. I was supposed to be busy tonight, so I went to Iron Works mid-afternoon to run on the treadmill. Mistake. There were too many people there. During my run, an old friend stopped by to visit. I lost my concentration and fell off the machine. Skinned up my knees and shin, but was otherwise okay. Got up and finished a little over a mile.

- Retired from the Army in 1984 and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 2005. Current age: 85. Began running in 1961 and racing in 1983. Completed over 1,500 races, to include 101 marathons or ultra-marathons and 106 half marathons. My normal running place is Huntsville State Park. I am a STREAKER, meaning that I run every day.
