I ran 4 miles on the trails at the park this morning and encountered a fifth snake on the trails this season. This one was another gulf coast ribbon snake. They are easy to see, but I wonder how many copperheads I ran past and never saw.

- Retired from the Army in 1984 and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 2005. Current age: 82. Began running in 1961 and racing in 1983.
