I set my alarm for 5:30 this morning to drive down to Houston to run the Legacy of Courage 5K at 8. It did not go off and I woke up at 7:40. Since they were also having a half marathon, I figured I could get there, start and finish before the half marathon was over. So, I made the hour and ten minute drive down to Houston and got there a little after 9. The parking lot was at least a half mile from the race. Picked up my bib and they let me start late. The course was partly roads, cross country and technical trail. I finished in 54:14 and was first of one in the 80 and over age group. Today, I completed 5 years on my current running streak. During this 5 years, I ran a total of 6,402.4 miles or an average of 3.5 per day I ran 352 races, an average of 70 per year. Kept it going through 2 back surgeries and 2 heart procedures.
