Gave up on the half marathon this Saturday

I am signed up to run The Woodlands Half Marathon this Saturday.  Just not ready.   Between the shoulder surgery, hip issues and sinus infections, I am too far  behind in my training.  My goal now is to run the Big Star Half Marathon in Frisco on April 13.  My weight is down 21 pounds from this time last year, but it is not resulting in speed or endurance.  Three miles on the park roads this evening.

Ken...shoulder surgery? I didn't know. And hip issues to boot. Rough. I am supposing rotator cuff surgery? Hope you get lots better on all fronts really soon.

Thanks, Marvin. The shoulder surgery was on December 20, but while recovering, I tore my left rotator cuff. Cortisone shot fixed that. In the meantime, a couple sinus infections. Then, inflammation in my hip. So far, 2 cortisone shots in that hip and one more to go. The shoulder is doing fine, but the hip has been the major obstacle to recovery. I'm getting there, though.
